“Baubek Batyr — the Legend of the Great Steppe”
06/02/2024, the Sochi Rural Library held a minute of information “Baubek Batyr — the Legend of the Great Steppe”, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baubek Batyr. The goal is to introduce readers to the biography of the legendary Kazakh batyr, associate of Khan Kenesary Baubek Bekmyrzauli, so that the younger generation knows and remembers the names of the heroes of the Great Steppe who sacrificed everything for the sake of the future. The librarian said that according to legend, anticipating his death, the batyr cut off his little finger and bequeathed to his fighting friend to bury him in his native land if he was not destined to return. This is what was done in the Zhaksynsky district. The official opening of the sacred object took place on October 16, 1993. The hero’s grave itself is located in the Russian city of Tyumen.
