Zhasyn – Tagdyr Zharqyly

On November 25, 2025, the Akan Kurmanov Rural Library held a literary evening, «Zhasyn – Tagdyr Zharqyly,» dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh scholar, traveler, and educator Shokan Ualikhanov.
During the event, the librarian spoke about Ualikhanov’s childhood, studies, scientific expeditions, and contributions to the development of oriental studies, ethnography, history, and geography. The students read excerpts from Shokan’s diary entries and letters and shared their reflections on his personality.
Of particular interest was the exhibition of books and materials dedicated to the scholar Shokan Ualikhanov.
The event took place in a warm, educational atmosphere, fostering a sense of pride in the readers for the outstanding figures of their country.
