«City of Wizards»

On September 12, 2024, the Central District Children’s Library hosted the «City of Wizards» campaign dedicated to the anniversary of the writer A.M. Volkov, who turned 130 this year. He gave us a wonderful book, «The Wizard of the Emerald City», published exactly 85 years ago.

The goals of the campaign are to introduce readers to systematic reading, to arouse interest in books and children’s literature, to form an idea of ​​the features of the fairy tale genre, to promote the formation of a sense of camaraderie, spiritual qualities: kindness, mutual assistance.

A librarian dressed up as a clown introduced passers-by on the street to the history of the creation of the book series about the Magic Land. Together, they recalled fascinating plots and favorite characters of the fairy tale, guessed riddles and answered questions. For correct answers, participants in a small quiz were given balloons and colorful booklets.
