“Unforgettable Name”

On April 10, 2024, a history hour “Unforgettable Name” was held in the Marinovskaya rural children’s library to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh scientist, geologist, academician, professor K.I. Satpayev.
The librarian introduced the children to the life and work of the scientist, who left a significant mark not only in geology, but also in the field of culture and history. K.I. Satpayev’s entire life was devoted to the study of mineral resources and the genealogy of ore rocks in Kazakhstan. He has been awarded multiple awards. A mineral discovered in the ores of the Karatau vanadium deposit, a glacier and a peak that climbers conquered in the year of his death, institutes, schools, streets, etc. are named after him, “satpaevite.”
A book exhibition was organized in the library.
Goal: to get acquainted with the biography of K.I. Satpayev, to increase readers’ interest in the scientist’s activities.
