“The Path to Art”

On January 24, 2024, the Sochi Rural Library prepared a presentation “The Path to Art” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Abylkhan Kasteev. The goal is to introduce readers to the work of A Kasteev, promote the development of aesthetic taste, expand their ideas about painting and artists of Kazakhstan, and cultivate a sense of patriotism. In the history of fine arts of Kazakhstan, the name of Abylkhan Kasteev occupies a particularly important and honorable place. He was the first national, truly folk artist. There is nothing exaggerated, extraordinary, fantastic, or mysterious in Kasteev’s paintings. And this shows love for life, for every moment of it, every day; this is where the strength and poetry of the artist’s art lies. The ethical and aesthetic assessment of events and facts is always optimistic and humane, permeated with his spiritual warmth.
