“The Movement of the Alash Figure – Sh. Kosshygulov”

On February 5, 2024, an information hour “The Movement of the Alash Figure – Sh. Kosshygulov” was held in the Telman Rural Library. Those present listened to information about the history of the creation of the party, about the struggle of the advanced intelligentsia of the Kazakh people for the independence of Kazakhstan at the beginning of the twentieth century. I introduced him to the biography of Sh. Kosshygulov. It was a difficult time. Activists of the Alash party were persecuted; its members sacrificed not only their freedom, but also their lives. Their names and deeds remained sealed for a long time and were in oblivion. Only with the proclamation of the independence of Kazakhstan were they rehabilitated. The leaders of the Alash party: A. Bukeikhanov, A. Baitursynov, M. Dulatov, M. Shokai, E. Omarov, Kh. Gabassov, Kh. Dosmukhamedov and others sought to achieve the independence of Kazakh society in a constitutional way, through political struggle. All efforts were directed towards awakening the self-awareness of the Kazakh people. There is a book exhibition in the library.
