«The Book is the Children’s Best Friend»

On March 27, 2024, the Marinovskaya Rural Children’s Library held the opening of the Children’s Book Week «The Book is the Children’s Best Friend.»
During spring break, all libraries celebrate Children’s and Youth Book Week. The history of this holiday goes back to the war year of 1943.
In 1943, in such a harsh time, writers organized a holiday “Children’s Book Week”, gathering children from all over Moscow in the Hall of Columns of the House of Unions to emphasize the great importance of children’s books, the enormous role of children’s literature in the lives of children. Since then, this wonderful holiday for all curious children has been held annually.
Primary school students were invited to the event. The children took a tour of the halls of the library, where they got acquainted with interesting and instructive literature. A review was conducted of the book exhibition, from which readers learned about the age of books that celebrate their anniversary in 2024, and heard how and where these works were created. The children received a lot of positive emotions and impressions. And most importantly, we came to the conclusion that reading is a useful, enjoyable, necessary, interesting and fun activity.
The purpose of the event: to popularize books and reading among the younger generation.
