STOP! Cruelty and Violence

On November 17, 2025, the Sadovaya Rural Library published an informational post entitled «STOP! Cruelty and Violence.»
Everyone has the right to safety, respect, and protection.
But cruelty and violence, unfortunately, can occur at home, on the street, and at school. It’s important to know the signs and remember: silence is not an option.
Violence at Home:
Home should be a place of warmth and trust.
But if someone experiences:
-shouting, humiliation;
-aggression, threats;
-physical punishment;
-control and prohibitions—this is domestic violence.
It is dangerous and damaging to health and psyche.
What to do:
Tell a loved one you trust;
-contact local helplines or hotlines;
-if life is in danger, call 911.
Violence on the Street
The following can occur on the street:
-fights and attacks;
-harassment;
— Insults,
— Extortion.
How to protect yourself:
— Stick to well-lit and crowded places;
— Avoid confrontational groups;
— Call emergency services if you feel in danger;
— Don’t hesitate to ask passersby for help.
School Violence
Bullying is also violence.
It manifests itself in the following forms:
— Bullying, name-calling;
— Taunting and spreading rumors;
— Pushing, damaging things;
— Bullying on social media.
What to do:
— Immediately inform your homeroom teacher, psychologist, or parents;
— Don’t respond to aggression with aggression;
— Save evidence (messages, photos);
— Seek support from friends or mentors.
How to fight cruelty and violence?
— Don’t remain silent! Violence thrives where it’s hidden.
— Support others. Sometimes one kind word saves the day. — Respect each person’s boundaries.
— Learn to say «no.»
— Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
— Spread the word. The more people know, the fewer victims.
Remember: violence is NEVER justified.
Protection begins with awareness.
Let’s say together: «STOP! Cruelty and violence!»
