On May 31, 2024, in the Marinovskaya rural children’s library, on the day of remembrance of victims of political repression and famine, a round table “Remembering the past — appreciating the present” was held for students and members of the “Young Local Historian” club.
Goal: acquaintance with the historical past of our Motherland, education in the spirit of democracy, freedom, personal wealth. Propaganda of our common historical heritage, preserving the memory of victims of political repression, knowledge of history.
At the event, a story about the terrible years of repression was heard.
May 31 is the day of remembrance of one of the most tragic pages in the history of Kazakhstan — mass political repression and horrific famine, which led to the death of millions of people. In memory of the many victims, we remember today those terrible years. The librarian spoke about prominent figures of the Kazakh elite, prominent figures in science, culture, and politics, who were shot from 1921 to 1954. A review of the literature presented at the book exhibition was conducted.
