“People’s Akyn of the Kazakh Land”

On March 15, 2024, in the Sochi Rural Library, as part of events on the anniversaries of literary figures, a patriotic hour “People’s Akyn of the Kazakh Land” was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Koken Shakeyev. The goal is to introduce readers to the work of the People’s Akyn of the Republic of Kazakhstan, WWII veteran Koken Shakeev. The librarian said that Koken Shakeyev had one of the brightest original talents, an akyn-improviser who revived the most popular type of folk art on our land — aitys.
