«People’s akyn — improviser»
On January 23, 2024, the Garden Rural Library held an evening — a portrait of «People’s akyn — improviser», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the people’s akyn of the Republic of Kazakhstan — the pride of Kokshetau, WWII veteran Koken Shakeyev.
Goal: introduction to folk art, popularization of the historical and cultural significance of the personality of K. Shakeev.
The people are strong with their roots, traditions, spiritual values, carried through centuries and passed on to new generations.
The librarian said that Koken Shakeyev was one of the brightest original talents, an akyn improviser, who revived the most popular type of folk art on our land — aitys.
At that time this art was very popular among the people. People were ready to listen for hours to the beautiful, extraordinary voice of the akyn, in his performance of heroic epics about Kabanbai, Sandybai, Bogenbai and others, as well as about everyday life and people. The creative and life path of K. Shakeev will forever remain in the memory of the people.
