The Timashevsky rural library held a historical hour for all groups of readers on the topic “Our courageous hero” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaevich Koshkarbayev — a participant in the Second World War, an officer of the Red Army. People’s Hero of Kazakhstan.
Librarian; told our readers about the life and history of the hero.
Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev was born on October 19, 1924, in the Akmola region, Taitobe village in the wintering area of Kyrykkuduk, Kazakh by nationality.
In the ranks of the Red Army since 1942, he ended up in a rifle regiment in the city of Kokchetav, where until October 27, 1944, an order was issued according to which the graduate of the Frunze Military School Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev was awarded the rank of junior lieutenant.

The decisive assault on the Reichstag by Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev.
On April 30, 1945, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev, together with his colleague Grigory Bulatov, erected the Red Banner on the wall of the Reichstag. Modest heroes, crawling a deadly 360 meters for more than 7 hours.
On April 30, 1945 at 2:25 p.m., during the storming of the Reichstag, he was the first to hoist the red banner on the Reichstag building.
