“No to Drugs”

On June 21, 2024, the Central District Library named after Ilyas Yesenberlin, together with the Atbasar District Regional Library, organized a round table “No to Drugs” for students of the AIC, dedicated to the International Day against Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
The purpose of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle, familiarize yourself with the consequences of drug use, develop a negative attitude towards trying drugs and skills for safe behavior with people who use drugs and try to lure others into drugs.
The event was attended by V.N. Shevchenko, an employee of the “Healthy Lifestyle” office.
The round table discussed: the dangers of drug use, why people become drug addicts, what changes happen to people who use drugs, how drugs can be avoided. During the conversation, the guys learned about the rapid development of addiction to drugs and their great harm to health. In addition, librarian Romanova S. introduced the children to Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Illegal production, processing, acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues, which provide for punishment for the use, storage and sale of narcotic substances.»
Games on the topic were held, videos about the dangers of drugs were shown, and visual material was used in the form of information leaflets “Drug Addiction Prevention.”
