“Nauryz — a holiday of spring and creation”
On March 19, 2024, the Marinovsky rural children’s library hosted a holiday-meeting “Nauryz — a holiday of spring and creation,” in which students of the music school took part.
The purpose of the event: to strengthen students’ knowledge about the Nauryz holiday, expand children’s horizons, cultivate interest and respect for the customs and traditions of their home country, give the idea that ancient customs, rites and traditions reflect the spiritual life of the people.
The librarians said that the Nauryz holiday is the oldest holiday of the peoples of the East, Nauryz Meiramy is a holiday of spring renewal. The children were also told that a festive dastarkhan was served in every home. Before and after the meal, prayers were read in honor of the ancestors, then the eldest in age gave a blessing (bata) for a prosperous year.
Then Azhe (Zhusupova B.I.) together with the children performed the “Besikke salu” ritual. A lullaby on the dombra was performed by Nurlanbek Akerke and Beisenbayeva Fatima. At the end of the event, guests were invited to tea.
An ethno-corner and a book exhibition were set up in the library for the event.
