“Alash: a trace in the history of the people”

30.05.24 The Central District Library named after Ilyas Yesenberlin organized an hour of requiem “Alash: a trace in the history of the people” for students of the AIK on the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression.
The purpose of the event: to get acquainted with the history of the creation of the party, about the struggle of the advanced intelligentsia of the Kazakh people for the independence of Kazakhstan at the beginning of the twentieth century.
It was told about the leaders of the Alash party who were persecuted, who sacrificed not only their freedom, but also their lives. Their names and deeds remained sealed for a long time and were in oblivion. Only with the proclamation of the independence of Kazakhstan were they rehabilitated. Leaders of the Alash party: A. Bukeikhanov, A. Baitursynov, M. Dulatov, M. Shokai, E. Omarov, Kh. Gabassov, Kh. Dosmukhamedov and many others. others sought to achieve the independence of Kazakh society in a constitutional way, through political struggle. All efforts were directed towards awakening the self-awareness of the Kazakh people. The library has organized a book exhibition “Alash”, which will be open throughout the year. Those present took an active part in the discussion of historical events in Kazakhstan at the beginning of the 20th century.
