“A Worthy Son of the Kazakh People,”
On January 10, 2024, the Garden Rural Library conducted an information dossier “A Worthy Son of the Kazakh People,” dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the Soviet Kazakh journalist, publisher, active participant in the Alash movement K.A. Bolganbaev.
Purpose: to show the historical significance of the individual as a patriot, citizen,
which became the pride of the Kazakh people.
The librarian spoke about the difficult fate of K.A. Bolganbaev. Who in 1928, by decision of the OGPU, was recognized as an “enemy of the people” and sentenced to 5 years of exile in Western Siberia. In 1934 he returned to Almaty and settled in the village of Kaplanbek, Saryagash district, South Kazakhstan region. In 1937 he was arrested and executed, posthumously rehabilitated on February 25, 1958.
