«Restoration of historical justice»

15/10/2024 Poltava rural library held a history day «Restoration of historical justice» for the 100th anniversary of the national hero Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev.
The purpose of the event: to form a respectful attitude towards the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the past of our Motherland.
During the event, readers got acquainted with a short biography of Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, who, together with Grigory Bulatov, hoisted the flag on the Reichstag building.
The librarian told how the life of the national hero developed in peacetime. He wrote two books about the war: «The Banner of Victory» and the documentary story «Storm: Day 1410». Only in 1999 Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev was posthumously awarded the highest award of Kazakhstan — the title of «People’s Hero» with the presentation of the special distinction of the Gold Star.
