«City with a Book»
This year, on the eve of Children’s and Youth Book Week, the staff of the Central District Children’s Library decided to hold an unusual event in support of books and reading and take to the city streets with a flash mob «City with a Book».
The goal of the event was to attract the attention of adults and children to reading and books, to invite city residents to visit the library. And so, on August 29, the Book took to the city streets.
Bright signs with the names of the event involuntarily attracted the attention of passers-by. They stopped, and a casual conversation began, during which children and adults were asked to recognize writers from photographs, name their works, read excerpts from books. And from the lips of the city residents began to sound the piercing, memorable for the brightness of images and colors famous lines of Samuil Marshak and childishly naive warm lines of Agniya Barto. On the streets of the city there was not a single person who would refuse to make friends with a book.
The Children’s Library’s open-air event will not be the only one. The next flash mob will take place in October, and everyone will be able not only to meet with a book, but also to participate in intellectual competitions and active games.
Until the next meetings with a book on the city streets!
