«Uly dalanyn uly akyny — Abai»

On August 8, 2024, the Akan Kurmanov rural library held an evening of memories
«A Thousand Wise Pages». The event was dedicated to Abai Day.
The librarian spoke about the life and work of the poet, the culture of the Kazakh people and the poet’s brilliant works. Over the years of his life, A. Kunanbayev created about 170 poems, many poems, made 56 translations of classical works and also presented the world with a storehouse of wisdom, the book «Words of Edification». Participants of the event: D. Razumenko and M. Maltseva read several poems from his collection. The librarian reviewed the book exhibition «Uly dalanyn uly akyny — Abai», where the poet’s books were on display. Readers said that they were familiar with his works and had read several books.

the cultural heritage of A. Kunanbayev remains a treasure for our people.
Abai Kunanbayev is the most outstanding representative of Kazakh and world culture. Abai attached great importance to the education of the Kazakh people. He cultivated in young people a thirst for knowledge, perseverance in achieving goals. He explained to the masses the need for education as the only way to a better life. «Learn yourself and teach others. Only by knowledge does a person live.»

His poetry remains relevant today. The moral principles that he taught The great Abai is needed as a guide for all times.
