“Dombyra in every home”
01/07/2024 The Central District Children’s Library launched a campaign for Dombra Day, “Dombyra in every home,” which was joined by both adults and children.
“Nagyz Kazakh — dombyra” (A real Kazakh is a dombyra) — this is what people say. In the Kazakh steppe, the assertion has become stronger that this musical instrument, considered sacred, contains the entire soul of the steppe dweller. According to ancient customs, it was supposed to be in every home, it was given the most honorable place and was given as the most valuable gift. The significance of the national musical instrument has not been lost to this day.
The goals and objectives of the event are to introduce legends about dombra, broaden the horizons of readers, and cultivate interest in the music, traditions and culture of the Kazakh people.
