“Dad is not your Mom”
On June 13, 2024, a conversation-discussion “Dad is not your Mom” was held in the Marinovskaya rural children’s library for Father’s Day.
Goal: to attract parents to joint events, improve the status of family relationships, and cultivate pride and respect for parents.
Dads with children were invited to the event: Tarasenko and Tubekov. Library staff held a conversation about the importance and role of fathers in raising children.
During the event, children were asked to draw their dads as they see them, and the dads had to guess the drawing of their child. While the children were busy drawing, the dads answered the questions of the quiz “Childhood Tales”, “Our soldier is rich in intelligence and strength.” We took part in the competition “Who can inflate a balloon the fastest” and “Who can make a paper airplane the fastest.” Participants of the event listened to proverbs and sayings about fathers in Kazakh and Russian. Dads shared interesting moments from the lives of their children, and our regular readers Ira Sakovets and Bogdan Krivoruchko read poems about dads.
Then the librarian showed the children’s drawings, and the dads immediately recognized themselves by the way their sons drew. For active participation in our event, the librarians awarded the dads with the “Best Dad!” medal and the children with sweet prizes.
At the end of the event we took a photo as a souvenir.
