“A sad monument to the era”

On May 31, 2024, the Poltava Rural Library, on the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression, together with KFOR, held an hour of remembrance with adult readers “A sad monument to the era.”
The purpose of the event: to perpetuate the memory of victims of political repression, to cultivate interest in studying the history of their country.
Those present were told about what Stalinist repressions were and about the numerous camps for political prisoners.
For all groups of readers, a book exhibition “We have no right to forget” has been organized, which introduces readers to the history of the most tragic periods of Kazakhstan — mass political repression and horrific famine, which led to the death of millions of people.
