«Sagadat Nurmagambetov — the pride of the nation»

24/05/2024 The Marinovskaya rural children’s library held an event portrait of the personality «Sagadat Nurmagambetov — the pride of the nation» for the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Sagadat Kozhakhmetovich Nurmagambetov — Soviet and Kazakh military leader, first Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Hero of the Soviet Union, People’s Hero of Kazakhstan, General of the Army of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Born on May 25, 1924 in the village of Trudovoye, Alekseevskaya volost, Akmola district, Akmola region. After graduating from 7th grade, he began his career working as the manager of a hut-reading room on a collective farm. At the age of 18 (1942) he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to a military school. After completing training in April 1943, he fought until May 1945 as a commander. On February 27, 1945, for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command, and for his courage and heroism, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
The further fate of S. Nurmagambetov was connected with military affairs. Sagadat Kozhakhmetovich talks about his military journey and many years of service in the Armed Forces in his books “Facing the Fire”, “My Frontline”, “And There is No Silence in Memory”.
