“The Talent of a Great Artist”

On April 18, 2024, an educational hour “The Talent of a Great Artist” was held in the Telman Rural Library, dedicated to the outstanding Kazakh painter Abilkhan Kasteev.
Event for the special project “Great Names of the Great Steppe.” The librarian told readers that painting is one of the important components of the country’s cultural life. It not only reflects visible reality in landscapes, portraits, and still lifes, but also “restores” events of the distant past in historical paintings. A. Kasteev is an original artist who began his career as a simple worker. The paintings he created describe the extraordinary beauty of the nature of his native land, the author’s love for what surrounded him, convey the spiritual world of the artist. A great achievement of Kazakh fine art is the fact that the artist’s 100th anniversary was celebrated at the UNESCO level. To understand the picture, language is not needed . A. Kasteev translated into artistic language what he saw himself, how he perceived the world around him. The artist created about a thousand works depicting various manifestations of folk life. During the event, schoolchildren got acquainted with the famous reproductions of the great master. Also presented are drawings by Samira Braeva, who is just beginning her journey in painting.
