Children’s Book Week
Children’s Book Week is taking place at the Central District Children’s Library from March 25 to 31.
The goals of the event are to popularize reading in our country among children, teenagers and
youth subculture, expanding the reader’s horizons, forming readers’ ideas about the role of books and reading in a person’s life, developing expressive reading skills and developing the creative abilities of readers.
At the moment, we have noticed the onset of a systemic reading crisis, due to which the issues of children, adolescents and youth subcultures in introducing reading are becoming more pressing, requiring special control and creative approaches to solving them. The library hosted various exciting events to promote reading in our country. Children’s and youth literature undoubtedly plays an invaluable and important role in the process of education, emotional and cognitive development of the individual, instilling moral values and forming moral principles with the help of favorite characters. In this sense, the library becomes an indispensable guide, a faithful assistant, and a home for the growing reader — comfortable, interesting and creative, a stay in which would be vital for the young reader. The game process of engaging in reading allows you to unobtrusively but steadily strengthen interest in literature. Library workers not only engage in mass education of readers, but also conduct individual conversations through the selection of books of interest, during which the greatest positive results are achieved. There is no need to be prejudiced: teenage choices do not include empty and meaningless works. For the most part, young readers give preference to foreign and high-quality domestic literature, which attracts, makes them read carefully, delve into the content, think and empathize with bright, characteristic characters, and produces a strong emotional impact on teenagers. Readers not only find in books an outlet for their experiences, so inherent in the teenage consciousness subject to sudden changes, but also get to know the world, study the subtle psychologism introduced by the author into the behavior model of already familiar heroes, and involuntarily prepare for the upcoming trials in adulthood.
